JEDDAH: Saudi Arabia’s meteorology authority issued weather warnings across some areas of the Kingdom on Saturday,
The General Authority for Meteorology and Environmental Protection warned of thunderstorms, accompanied by dust and active winds, in the southwestern city of Najran and the western city of Al-Baha and its governorates.
Citizens and residents were warned that the weather warnings in Najran will be in place from 12 p.m. until 9 p.m. local time.
There were also warnings of wind and dust limiting visibility, with the chance of rain and clouds in Tabuk region, including the coastal areas. The authority said the warning would remain until 10 p.m. local time.
The authority also warned of thunderstorms and winds in Jazan and Asir, also in southwestern Saudi Arabia, and predicted dusty and windy weather would limit visibility in the Eastern Province and parts of the Northern Borders Region.
The Civil Defense Directorates of both provinces called on citizens and residents to take caution and not to approach low lying areas, valleys and floodwaters, take precautionary measures and follow the alerts and instructions from the civil defense, which they said are working around the clock.
